The California Democratic Party Shows it's true Socialist Colors.

Click pic to Enlarge

Despite a thriving economy, shrinking budget deficits, rising public school test scores and record low jobless claims, Phil Angelides still believes that pushing his socialist agenda will get him elected. And regardless of the fact that polls show he is out of touch with California voters, the Democrat party base is following him down the road to communism.

The Sacramento Bee points out:

The embrace of Angelides by the Democratic establishment and party partisans conflicts with polls showing Westly faring better than Angelides against Schwarzenegger in a hypothetical general election race.

"It's cathartic for Democratic Party activists to listen to the Angelides rant," said Dan Schnur, a Republican political analyst. "... It may be enough to get him the nomination, but not enough to get him elected."

But Angelides' fiery partisanship and his vow to fund schools by taxing the rich -- Californians earning more than $500,000 -- is striking a chord with union groups yearning for a populist message.

Art Pulaski, executive secretary of the California Labor Federation, said its board found "nothing wrong with Steve Westly." But he said the umbrella group for 2.1 million union members chose to back Angelides in the primary because he offered a more "forceful voice ... who will side with the middle class" against tax breaks for the rich.

Pulaski said the labor group is "mobilizing our forces, the ground troops, to support Phil's campaign" and is also sending out mailers on his behalf.

Another powerful Democratic constituency, the California Teachers Association, recently gave $1 million to an independent political committee backing Angelides. CTA President Barbara Kerr said teachers will be volunteering in phone banks and in communities to get out the vote for his campaign.

"The minute the activists started to turn out, the race started to turn," said Democratic political consultant Phil Giarrizzo, who said ground work by well-organized volunteers could mean a difference of three to five percentage points in the primary vote. "... Clearly, Phil has regained his footing."

Angelides’ Socialist agenda and shrill campaign rhetoric may be enough to get him the Democratic nomination. But it will hurt him when the general election comes around.

Angelides' gambit is an effort to win the gubernatorial primary June 6 by rallying partisans angry over President Bush, the Iraq war, corporate scandals, corruption and the Republican hold on Congress.

Democrats nationwide are packaging this intense discontent in an effort to win back the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives.

Angelides' use of the same strategy could help with a comeback win in the Democratic primary. Yet the tactic could cost the nominee broader appeal against Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in November.

Undeterred, Angelides directs fiery rhetoric to charge up voters and inspire volunteers from union members to anti-war activists to turn out for his campaign.

And while Westly offered a nuanced answer in the debate about bringing back California National Guard troops from Iraq, Angelides thunders: "This war in Iraq is wrong. It is wounding the conscience of this nation."

For Angelides, it doesn't matter that Westly agrees with him on almost every California policy issue. While Westly runs as a problem-solving centrist "who is not an ideologue," Angelides depicts him as someone selling out by playing it safe.

That’s right Phil! Don’t play it safe! Be all the Socialist you can be! And let the voters of California know what the California Democratic Party truly stands for:

-Big Government
-Higher Taxes
-Social Indoctrination
-And Absense of Moral Values!

Who would help your child? (Video)

Imagine your child were walking down the street and a strange man grabs her in an attempt to abduct her. Would someone come to here rescue? It appears that at least in New York City, your child would have a slim chance of getting any help.

NBC’s Today Show put together a hidden camera segment where they pretended to have a man abducting a 7 year old girl in broad daylight on a busy public street. Sadly, I wasn’t surprised by the result.

Remember When...

Smaller government, lower taxes, family values, grandma and apple pie… These are the things that the Republican Party once stood for. What has happened?

As a matter of fact, one of the most commonly agreed upon planks of the Republican Party Platform has to do with smaller government and lower spending.

Purity Balls… The latest casualty of San Francisco style tolerance.

Fathers make a profound gesture to support their daughters in their decision to save themselves for marriage, and what do they do in San Francisco? Mock them!

Tolerance is alive and well in San Francisco…

San Francisco Chronicle columnist, Mark Morford writes the following:

Purity Balls. No, not some sort of newfangled spherical chastity device to be inserted sing vacuum tubes and pulleys, but rather fancy creepy dress-up rituals taking place in towns like Colorado Springs and Tucson and Zoloft Jesusville, in which Christian dads rent a bad tux while their daughters, mostly teenagers but many as young as 6 or 7, get all dolled up in gowns from JCPenny and they all drive out to the airport Marriott and prepare to, well, lose their minds.

It begins. At some point the daughter stands up, her pale arms wrapped around her daddy, and reads aloud a formal pledge that she will remain forever pure and virginal and sex-free until she is handed over, by her dad (who is actually called the "high priest" of the home), like some sort of sad hymenic gift, to her husband, who will receive her like the sanitized and overprotected and libidinously inept servant she so very much is. Praise!

Would that I were making this up.

The dad -- er, high priest -- in turn, stands up and reads his pledge, one stating that he will work to protect his daughter's virginal purity that he has so carefully and wickedly drilled into her since birth, since she was knee-high to a disturbing dogma, that he will protect her chastity and oversee it and help enforce its boundaries, which might or might not involve great amounts of rage and confusion and secret stashes of cheap scotch, although his pledge claims it's with honor and integrity and lots of bewildering Godspeak. Which, in many households, is essentially the same thing.

It's true. Purity Balls are happening, right now. And yes, you have heard this all before. Particularly from the conservative Right, especially from America's rigid and pale fundamentalist "core."

What he is speaking of is an event at which fathers honor their daughters for their commitment to remain “pure” until they get married. Focused on the Family Magazine reports:

“This is not a debutante ball, but an elegant spiritual celebration that honors what God has created in fathers and daughters,” said Lisa Wilson, who with her husband, Randy, founded Generations of Light. (Randy is a Focus on the Family employee.) “We know that the covenants made that night will influence generations.”

Ample research shows that teen girls’ identities and their choice of future mates are strongly influenced by the relationship they have with their fathers — or the lack of it. Lisa’s father left when she was 2, and she grew up without knowing fatherly love or example. “I felt unprotected. I felt unloved. I had no identity,” she said.

The pledge that a father signs at the ball, Lisa said, is about his responsibility to model a righteous standard for his daughter, a standard of integrity, honesty, wisdom and discretion. And the purity message of the ball does not pertain only to sexual purity. “We want to help them enter marriage as pure, whole persons,” she said. “But it’s not just physical. It’s moral and emotional purity.”

Why does the existence of such an event offend Mr. Morford so? Is he being force to attend? Are they marching down the public streets celebrating their vows? Are his kids being forced to learn about these folks in their public school classrooms? I think not!

What offend Morford is that anyone dare have any moral standards. And that they would have the nerve to try and instill those same standards in their own children. Mark Morford is a part of the “Do Whatcha Like!” culture that has ruined the city of San Francisco. And with all their rhetoric about tolerance, they refuse to exercise any of their own.

Red States are going to church… Blue States are going to Hell!

Ok ….going to church does not necessarily mean that you are going to heaven. But according to a recently released two year study, it may mean that you are more likely to vote Republican. (Click Pic For Details.)

Gallop Poll conducted a two year study into the correlation between voting tendencies and church attendance. And what they discovered is the following:

• Forty-two percent of Americans attend a church or a synagogue once a-week or almost once a-week; 43% say they seldom or never attend church.

How often do you attend church or synagogue?

Once a week 31%
Almost once a week 11%
Once a month 13%
Seldom 27%
Never 16%

• There is a strong correlation between frequency of church attendance and partisan voting tendency. The more frequent a person attends church the more likely they are to vote Republican. Conversely, the less frequent a person attends church the more likely they are to vote Democrat.

• The closeness of the national political divide is mirrored by the nearly even split between regular church attendees (42%) and non-church attendees (43%).

• Nine of twelve swing states in Presidential politics are within 4% above or
below the national frequent church attendance average (ie: they range between
38% to 46% frequent church attendance.)

• There are eleven states where frequent (once a-week/almost once a-week) church attendance is 50% or more. Each is a safe Republican voting state in Presidential elections.

This study does nothing more than shine a light on what has long been obvious to us BIBLE BELIEVING Christian voters. Of the two major parties, it is the Republican Party that is most consistent with our Christian values.

But it also raises an interesting question for “Christian” Democrats. How do you explain the inverse relationship between those who regularly sit under the word of God and those who vote for Democrats? And secondly, do they see themselves as an anomaly in this phenomenon or is their church attendance and belief in the biblical scripture just as shaky as those who don’t call themselves Christians?

The fact is many who call themselves Christians, spend very little time getting to know Christ. Few attend church more than two times a year; Christmas and Easter. And even fewer actually spend time reading the Bible or praying. I have even encountered those who claim to be Christian, but don’t believe in the Bible. And without exception, these folks have all turned out to be liberal Democrats.

Then there are those who do attend Church, pray and I believe love God. But for some reason, they continue to support candidates for public office who are actively working to promote laws and statutes that conflict with the word of God.

I will be the first to admit that the Republican Party isn’t perfect. But when it comes to supporting Christian Values, it stands head and shoulders above the Democratic Party. In my six years of studying God’s word as it relates to the role that Christians are supposed to play in civil government, I have discovered the following duties that we, as believers are called to do:

1. Pray for Leaders- whether we like them or not.

“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.” [I Timothy 2:1-2]

“IF My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, THEN I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” [II Chronicles 7:14]

2. Select God Fearing Leaders- who Advance Christian Principles in Civil Government

“Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.” [Exodus 18:21](e.g., Federal—State-County/City)

“You shall appoint judges and officers in all your gates, which the LORD your God gives you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with just judgment. You shall not pervert justice…” [Deuteronomy 16:18+]

3. Seek Knowledge and Wisdom (Biblical principles are to be the benchmark for selecting political parties, people (candidates for office), and ballot propositions.)

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge...” [Hosea 4:6a]

“Incline your ear to wisdom. And apply your heart to understanding. …Cry out for discernment… Then you will understand the fear of the LORD.” [Proverbs 2:2, 3, 5]

4. Take Action to Advance His Principles Until He Returns

“Occupy [do business on My behalf] till I come…” [Luke 19:13b]

“Faith without works is dead…” [James 2:26b]

“For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required…” [Luke 12:48]

“Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.” [James 4:17]

5. Obey Governing Authorities and Laws

“Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.” [Rom. 13:1] (see also I Pet. 2:13,14)

6. Resist Tyrants and Laws that Violate Scripture [Daniel 3 & 6, and
Acts 4 & 5] See Daniel 3 & 6 and Acts 4 & 5 for examples of godly individuals who violated man’s law in order to obey and honor God.

7. Teach Our Children the Biblical Principles (including their duty to select just leaders and the Biblical principles of Liberty); we must re-establish an inter-generational perspective

“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children…” [Deut. 6:6-7a] (Also see Deut. 4:9 and Proverbs 22:6)

How many of us really do these things? I would say very few Christians do even half of them. If we did, we would not see the degradation in the moral values of our leadership that we see today.

Take for example my home state of California. Frequent church attendance stands at just 32% (23% once a-week and 8% almost once a-week) Placing the state near the bottom in frequent church attendance. Only six states have fewer people attend church on a regular basis. This is the same state who’s legislature was the first legislative body in the country to pass a bill legalizing same-sex marriage and is currently considering a measure (SB 1437) that would force school children to learn only about the positive contributions of gays, lesbians and trans-gendered individuals in history. How exactly is this in line with the values of Christian Democrats?

I would ask my Christian brothers and sisters to consider whether they have transformed their political world view to be consistent with their Christian faith or if they have perverted their faith to conform with their political beliefs. Are you a Christian first or a Democrat first? By their every action, the Democratic Party has demonstrated that they “despise” God. Do you?

No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. Matt 6:24

Jessie Helms is back! But this time he's Black!

I thought this commercial was a skit from some comedy show until I saw who sponsored it… Vernon Robinson, a Black congressional candidate in North Carolina.I had a chance to meet Vernon a few years ago when he was running for congress. His campaign slogan at the time was “Jessie Helms is back. But this time He’s Black!”

Once again, another great example of a race pimp for the right! (Video Here)

Yes, I said it! Just those he mocks on the left (Jessie Jackson and Al Shaprton), Vernon Robinson is nothing more than a glory hound seeking to use the vast racial divide in this country to elevate himself to icon status. Except unlike Sharpton and Jackson, he is pimpin’ for the right.

Like I wrote of Jessie Lee Peterson in my piece “Jesse Lee Peterson & Jessie Jackson- Pimpin Race for the Right and the Left

His goal is not to tell the truth, but to stir up racial tensions by telling conservatives that liberals and blacks are what is wrong with this country.

And like Peterson, he does shed light on some very real issues, but the manner in which he does it is more about self-aggrandizement and grand standing than about really solvin problems.

If Black Republicans are to ever be taken seriously it will be by holding up examples like JC Watts, Lynn Swan, Ken Blackwell and Bishop Keith Butler as examples of who we are.

Memo to Vernon Robinson: Leave the comedy skits to the comedians!

Support The Republican Wing of the Republican Party!

In recent times, it has become evident that not all in our party agree with these values. And these individuals have, over time, systematically worked themselves into positions of leadership within our party, while at the same time sought to subvert these core principles and those who do support them.

We with the "Support The Platform" Slate have come to the realization that the time has come for us to stand up for the principles upon which this nation and our party were founded

Democrat Legislators Getting Paid to Protest…. I thought it was a boycott?

Not everyone participating in the Great American Boycott was going without pay. California State Legislators voted to cancel their regularly scheduled floor sessions so that they could participate in rallies. But according to legislative records, only seven Democrats asked not to receive their $306 per diem.

According to the Sacramento Bee:

Records show that seven Democratic lawmakers asked not to receive a per diem
payment for Monday: Sen. Gilbert Cedillo of Los Angeles; and Assembly members
Judy Chu of Monterey Park, Carol Liu of La CaƱada Flintridge, Gloria
Negrete-McLeod of Chino, Lloyd Levine of Van Nuys, Dario Frommer of Los Angeles, and Nicole Parra, who worked in the Capitol on Monday afternoon but docked her
pay because she spent the morning driving to Sacramento from her Hanford
district.

While the outside of the Capitol was abuzz with protesters, the inside of the building was like a ghost town, haunted only by GOP legilsators and staffers. The 6th floor cafetera was closed and the basement resturant was offering minimal selections in honor of the boycott.

Republican legislators held a press conference to show their outrage at Democrats who chose to ignore the very important issues facing our state and spend a day partying and protesting; all on the taxpayers dime.

Here are some soundbites from Assembly members:

Audio File: 122kb - Assemblyman George Plescia (R - San Diego)
Audio File: 75kb - Assemblyman Doug LaMalfa (R - Biggs)
Audio File: 106kb - Assemblyman Bonnie Garcia (R - Cathedral City)

These Democrat legislators clearly don’t care about what Republicans have to say. I am not even sure that they care about what the taxpayers of California have to say. Let’s see if they care what voters have to say on election day.

(Hat tip to the Assembly Republican Caucus for the soundbites.)

Republicans say they’ll do the work that boycotting Democrats won’t. No...they are not legally elected, but they’ll work for half the pay!

As an estimated 20,000 protesters come to the State Capitol to advocate for illegal immigrants, Assembly Democrats will have taken steps to join the boycott by canceling their regularly scheduled floor session. However, they did schedule a check in session which will allow them to collect their $150 a day per diem.

Republicans are being encouraged by The Western Alliance to visit and call the office of Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez and offer to do the work that Democrats are not willing to do today.
