Oil For Food Scandal Still Goes Under-Reported

Example

Why is nobody in the mainstream media talking about the oil for food scandal? Iraq was clearly using thier oil to bribe officials of foreign governments (the French in particular) and the UN. But nobody is saying anything!!!

Now we discover that the bank (French bank that is!) which recieved over $700 million to administer the program, apparently did not do their job. Duh!

Democrats Have Faith Too

Example

Star Parker, President and Founder of The Coalition for Urban Renewal clearly points out that Democrats do have faith. The only problem is their faith is in the wrong things. Way to go Star!!! (Click on Pic for More.)

Racial Preferences... Help or Hinderance?

Example
Link Changed

According to the LA Times, UCLA Professor, Richard Sanders will be publishing a study that statistically shows what I have always believed. Racial preferences have too often taken intelligent, potentially successful students and placed them in situations where they have not been adequately prepared to be successful.
When I started school at California State University, Chico there were a total of 70 Black students in the freshman class, most of which were affirmative action students. When I graduated five years later, about 10% of those students graduated with me. I didn’t understand why so few had made it. They were just as smart and talented as I was. It wasn’t until I became a tutor for a program called Summer Bridge and worked with incoming freshmen, many of whom were affirmative action placements, that the truth of affirmative action became clear.

Many of these students were not able to do basic mathematical computations, such as adding, multiplying or dividing fractions. Additionally, few knew how to write a basic five-paragraph essay, a skill necessary for most college level courses. This is not to say that they were not capable of learning these skills. Rather, they had either, never been exposed to them or the importance of perfecting them had not been adequately imparted. All students experience a certain culture shock when they go to college. Now add to the mix the fact that many of these students come from high schools who’s ethnic and cultural makeup is dramatically different from that of the average college campus. What 18 year-old kid wouldn’t want to return to the comforts and familiar surroundings of home. And as if these students weren’t dealing with enough insecurities, wait until they find out that they have been setup for failure. Like a contractor asked to build a fence, but is given no wood, no hammer or any nails; these students are not given the proper tools to compete at the college level.

The problem is not Affirmative Action, but what it has become. Rather than making sure that ALL students have an EQUAL OPPORTUNITY TO SUCCEED in college, we have set many of those students up to fail by not making sure all students have the tools necessary to succeed once they there.

Everybody wants to take the shortcuts to solve the problem. Conservatives say to eliminate the program. Liberals simply want to throw more money at it. The answer is far more complex than politicians in either of these groups will admit. There is not a level playing field when it comes to access to higher education in this state. Black, Latino & Native American students tend to come from poorer communities with a quality of education that is worse than many third world nations. This must be addressed. But putting bright, potentially successful young men and women in positions where they are not prepared to succeed is not the answer. It is important that we not lower the bar for these students, but provide these students with whatever resources and assistance they need to meet these standards.

In other words... Let us not seek to improve their circumstances. Let us seek them improve themselves, so that they can overcome their circumstances.

This Is Why Ballot Box Budgeting Doesn't Work!

Example

Whenever we pass tax increases or bonds for special programs, the government always finds ways to spend the money on something other than what it was intended for. This is the future of Prop. 63 & 71, which were just approved by California voters (Click on Pic for More.)

Abortion! Because Lynching is for Amateurs!

Example

If Blacks want to know why we should be against abortion, they only need check out this site www.klannedparenthood.com . The abortion rights movement has accomplished through Planned Parenthood what the Klu Klux Klan could only have dreamed.

Consider the following:

  • A black baby is now more than three times as likely to be murdered in the womb than a white baby.
  • Since 1973, abortion has reduced the black population by over 25 percent.
  • Twice as many African-Americans have died from abortion than have died fromAIDS, accidents, violent crimes, cancer, and heart disease combined.
  • Every three days, more African-Americans are killed by abortion thanhave been killed by the Ku Klux Klan in its entire history.
  • Planned Parenthood operates the nation's largest chain of abortion clinics andalmost 80 percent of its facilities are located in minority neighborhoods.
  • About 13 percent of American women are black, but theysubmit to over 35 percent of the abortions.

Giving Credit where Credit is due

Example
I am the first to admit that I am no fan of the ACLU. But apparently, they are on the right (righteous) side of this issue. They are helping evangelical Christians in Las Vegas fight the casinos for their right to evangelize on the strip.

It is about time they stood up for Christian's right to free speech.

Should Christians Vote Christian?

With the presidential election now behind us, all the buzz seems to be about massive turnout of evangelical Christians. The liberals and the media would have us believe that it is wrong to vote for candidates who support moral standards (especially Christian moral standards). They claim. “It violates everything America stands for.”

Sacramento Observer- Are Black Pastors Misleading Us?
Sacramento Bee- Nations Cultural Divide- Values
Los Angeles Times- Now That He's Free, Who Needs Reality...

Well, that isn’t what these folks said:

George Washington
The first President of the United States in his Farewell Address (Sept. 19, 1796) stated, “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, Religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great Pillars…”

John Jay
The First Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court and one of the three men most responsible for the Constitution said, “It is the duty—as well as the privilege and interest—of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.”

Noah Webster
Founding Father, Author of Webster’s Dictionary, educator, largely responsible for Article I, Section 8 of the US Constitution “The religion that has introduced civil liberty is the religion of Christ and His apostles… to this we owe our free Constitutions of Government. …No truth is more evident to my mind than that Christian religion must be the basis of any government intended to secure the rights and privileges of a free people.”

John Quincy Adams
America's sixth President, said (in a speech delivered on July 4, 1837, at Newburyport): “Is it not that the Declaration of Independence first organized the social compact on the foundation of the Redeemer's mission upon earth? That it laid the cornerstone of human government upon the first precepts of Christianity?”

But what do these guys know about the foundation of this country?
