Get your Tickets Now to the Eagle Forum of Sacramento's Constitution Day Breakfast

This is a message from Angela Azevedo, Legislative Director for Eagle Forum of California:

What is wrong with Californians? I'll tell you, we've become complacent ... we've forgotten that our Founding Fathers created the greatest legal document ... our U.S. Constitution. Yet our constitutional rights are being trampled every day by a group of legislators who care more about wearing Hugo Chavez lapel pins (Jackie Goldberg) than preserving our American heritage and fundamental rights.

Every American and person of faith should be outraged that Schwarzenegger signed into law SB1441 which will cause any business, Judeo-Christian private schools and universities, any faith-based organization to "condone" the pro-homosexuality agenda or forfeit receiving any funds from the state. Cleary this is unconstitutional and I'm praying that Pacific Justice Institute will pursue filing a lawsuit against this outrageous law that violates our First Amendment right. And there are three or four other bills sitting on his desk that are just as bad, if not worse.

It's not too late to purchase your tickets to Eagle Forum of Sacramento's Constitution Day Breakfast to get to know the most important legal document ever created and to hear uplifting speakers like Brad Dacus and Craig DeLuz who will introduce facts to aid you in a better understanding of the Constitution and how it brought this Nation to greatness. With a newfound appreciation of this Document, we are confident you will leave with a burning desire to preserve this precious Document for future generations ... for our children. Your participation in this fundraiser will help Eagle Forum of Sacramento carry on our work to support our mission ... Protect Our Children For The Survival of America.

Did you know ...

-The Constitution was "penned" by Jacob Shallus, a Pennsylvania General Assembly clerk, for a fee of $30 (equivalent to $300 today)?

-The US Constitution has 4,440 words; it is the oldest and the shortest written constitution of any government in the world.

-It took 100 days to actually "frame" the Constitution.
The word "democracy" does not appear once in the Constitution.

-Our US Constitution was ratified on September 17 "in the Year of Our Lord" 1787 (Article VII, subscription clause)! Its principles are distinctly Biblical!

-Southwest Airlines honors Mexican Independence Day on a bag of peanuts (which just happens to be 9/15), but we Americans fail to honor our own U.S. Constitution?

Please join Eagle Forum of Sacramento to give tribute to OUR U.S. Constitution.

Salem Radio to Take Eric Hogue Regional

Salem Radio relieased the following press release this evening announcing their plans to take to not only keep Eric Hogue, but to take him regional!

ERIC HOGUE TO DRIVE AFTERNOON CHRISTIAN TALK FROM SACRAMENTO TO
SAN FRANCISCO;
Popular Salem Talk Host Launches New Show on KFIA and KFAX

Sacramento, August 29, 2006 – Tom Holiday, general manager of Salem’s Sacramento cluster of stations today announced that popular talk show host Eric Hogue, heard weekdays on News Talk KTKZ 105.5 FM & 1380 AM, will launch a new show on AM 710 KFIA in Sacramento and San Francisco’s KFAX AM 1100. The Eric Hogue Show: The New Talk of Northern California debuts September 5 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Both KFIA and KFAX feature Christian teaching and talk programming from nationally known teachers and Bible expositors.

According to Holiday, “Eric came to News Talk KTKZ from Cleveland where he hosted one of the most listened to Christian talk shows. As an ordained minister, Eric will offer the same passion and perspective listeners have come to appreciate on his weekday morning show. We are taking advantage of an opportunity to reach a larger audience in afternoon drive with an experienced host who truly understands contemporary talk from a Christian worldview.”

Eric Hogue commented: “I am excited about the opportunity to reach a larger audience with the same kind of lively talk and debate I’ve shared with listeners over the last few years. This is a privilege that I take seriously and I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

Hogue may be best known for helping launch California’s recall of Governor Gray Davis. Hogue spoke with the “Official Petitioner” of the 2003 Recall, Ted Costa of the People’s Advocate driving the original ‘signers’ of the ‘intent to recall Governor Davis’ in Sacramento. This document became the ‘official petition’ for the recall of Governor Gray Davis.

In 2004, Hogue was honored with the “Andy Anderson Award” as Salem’s “National Talk Show Host of the Year”. The National Religious Broadcasters honored Hogue and KTKZ as the “Talk Station of the Year” that same year.

Joe Pursch, who currently hosts Real Talk with Joe Pursch on KFIA will be developing a new, special series called “Transforming Moments” that will air throughout the day on KFIA later this fall.

Upon the close of all announced transactions, the company will own 102 radio stations, including 66 stations in 23 of the top 25 markets. Eric Hogue to stay in Sacramento

“Where your opinion counts!”

That’s the motto at Salem radio station KTKZ. And it appears to be the motto of the network’s management as well.

Thanks, in part to all of the listener support and to some forward thinking folks on Salem’s management team, it looks like Eric Hogue will be staying on the air. However, it will not be in his usual morning spot on 1380AM.

The word is that KTKZ will be going forward with plans to go all syndicated, all the time. This will probably mean Lara Ingram live from 6-9 am, Dennis Prager live from 9-noon, followed by the usual lineup of Medved and Hughe in the afternoon.

Hogue will be switching over to KFIA 710AM, The Light from 5-8pm and continuing his political/cultural dialogue-type format. But because KFIA is a Christian format station, I would guess that his show will take on more of a “faith-based” perspective; a change that Eric is well equipped to handle.

Sadly, this will mean that Real Talk with Joe Pursch will no longer be on the air. I enjoy his show greatly and count him as a good friend. I believe that he will still be working with Salem and continuing the other ministry work he is doing in Sacramento.

I wish there was a way to keep them both. But if there is one thing that I have learned from this experience with the Eric Hogue Show, is that if the listeners want it to happen bad enough, Salem will find a way to make it work.

So I just want to say “Thank You!” to Salem Broadcasting for keeping conservative talk alive in Sacramento.

Please remember to drop Salem a line and thank them yourselves also!

Get a Job! (Uncommon Sense Radio)

God loves to work! Think about it… when creating the world, he worked six days and rested only one. And when he created Adam, the first thing he did was give him a job.

On the other hand, man tends to have a very negative outlook on work. We can’t wait for Friday to come so that we can leave work and dread Monday, when we have to return. And try to get people to give of their free time to volunteer.

As we are called on to have the mind of Christ, shouldn’t that also include our attitude towards work?

This edition of Uncommon Sense explores God’s perspective of work and our attitudes towards it and those with whom we labor.

CNN- No Fear, Just Facts... Pffft! (Funny Video)

I find it funny how the liberal left is always accusing those of us on the right of fear mongering. Well, here is the Jon Stewart of the Daily Show giving them a little of their own medicine.

Democrat bill forces employers to pay striking employees

AB 1884 would allow striking employees to receive unemployment insurance benefits while out on strike. And because employers are ones who pay for unemployment insurance, who do you think will be footing the bill that will result from increased claims?

According to the Inland Empire Business Journal AB 1884:

Increases the cost of doing business in California by forcing California employers to subsidize a strike against their own company by providing unemployment insurance benefits to workers unemployed due to a strike.

This measure is on it's way to Governor Schwarzenneger for his signature or veto. He in fact vetoed a simular bill last year (AB 391 Koretz) declaring:

“Unemployment benefits are predicted on the principle that workers should receive assistance when they have lost their job through no fault of their own. This principle is key to maintaining the balance that prevents both employers and workers from taking precipitous actions to affect unemployment payouts. This bill disrupts that balance by allowing workers to receive unemployment benefits when they have initiated the process for a strike that results in a lock-out. Current unemployment insurance law already protects workers from lock-outs called by an employer when there is no strike notice. Essentially, this bill will require that businesses subsidize the strike actions of their workers. Unemployment benefits must be maintained for workers who lose their job through no fault of their own.”

Should Christians be involved in politics (Uncommon Sense Radio)

For some reason, the Christian Church has bought into the false doctrine of "Separation of Church and State".

Well this edition of Uncommon Sense Radio provides an introduction into what I like to call "Christian Civics" and provides some biblical arguments as to why we are not only allowed to participate, but we are mandated to participate.

Should Christians Vote Christian?

Homosexual Indoctrination Bill Passes the California Assembly

Click Pic to Enlarge

The hotly contested SB 1437 was approved by the California State Assembly this afternoon. As amended, this measure states that No teacher shall give instruction nor shall a school district sponsor any activity that reflects adversely upon persons because of their race or ethnicity, gender, disability, nationality, sexual orientation, or religion…

In other words, only positive images of this homosexuality are allowed in school.

Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez presented the bill before the Assembly for the author, State Senator Shelia Kuehl. And in his closing he made it a point to say that this bill would simply create a safe and “discrimination free” environment in our schools; which is a bold faced lie! It makes it against the law for a public school teacher to share information, no matter how factually accurate that would portray homosexuals in a negative light.

For example: A health class instructor, when discussing the spread of AIDS in the United States, could not share the fact that Male-to-Male sexual contact has been responsible for more people contracting the disease in the US than all other causes combined; even though this is backed up by data from the Center for Disease Control.

So essentially, SB 1437 forces our schools to teach one side of the story. And by definition, that is not education. It is indoctricnation!

Update

Here is the Press Release sent out by the California Assembly Republican Caucus

DEMOCRATS FLUNK OBJECTIVE LESSONS IN CALIFORNIA’S PUBLIC SCHOOLS

SB 1437 Imposes Special-Interest Political Agenda on State’s Classrooms

SACRAMENTO – Assembly Republicans today strongly criticized Democrats for passing an intrusive measure that will impose the political agenda of narrow special-interest groups in public schools across California.

“Our children should be given a complete and honest picture of the struggles, sacrifices and successes that have made America the nation it is today,” said Assemblyman Doug La Malfa, of Richvale. “The narrow political agenda of some Sacramento politicians should never alter how lessons are taught to students in our public schools.”

Senate Bill 1437, by Sen. Sheila Kuehl, D-Santa Monica, would prohibit schools from engaging in any activity or using any instructional material that reflects negatively upon individuals because of their sexual orientation. While Democrats recently amended the measure to delete provisions that would have required the teaching of the history of homosexual Americans in public schools, Republicans believe that imposing lesson plans from the State Legislature is still a flawed approach.

“While this measure is not as intrusive as first proposed, it is simply wrong for state lawmakers to usurp the role of accountable school board members by mandating from the Assembly floor that teachers portray one group of Californians solely in a positive light,” La Malfa said. “It is offensive to California’s proud tradition of academic freedom and diverse viewpoints on our school campuses, something liberals say they have been fighting for since the 1960s.”

The measure now returns to the Senate for concurrence in the Assembly’s amendments. Governor Schwarzenegger has indicated publicly that he intends to veto the measure when it reaches his desk.

Salem has nothing to say about Hogue’s release…

It appears that word of Salem’s plans to let Eric Hogue go is getting around. As a matter of fact, the Sacramento Bee is even covering the story. And according to them Salem has “…nothing to say about it.”

Sam McManis posted a piece at sacbee.com stating:

We called the normally chatty Hogue, who clammed up really quick when the subject was broached. He referred us to Tom Holiday, the general manager of Salem Communications' Sacramento stations, which include KTKZ. Holiday referred us to Denise Davis, director of communications at Salem's headquarters in Camarillo.

"We have not announced anything," Davis tells us. "The information out there is premature. We have nothing to say about it."

Well for the record let me say that it was not my good friend Eric Hogue who told me.

The information in my post KTKZ is canceling the Eric Hogue Show- The Death of Conservative Talk in Sac? It actually came to me by way of the capitol rumor mill. A fellow staffer sent me an email to ask if I had heard anything. And after a few calls….(me being nosey) I got a call from some of the advertisers who confirmed the story. Evidently, they were notified by KTKZ sales staff and they were none too happy.

So I wonder what Salem means when they say “The information out there is premature”?

I doubt that it means they will change their minds, but I can still be hopeful. Let’s Keep those emails coming folks!!

Send an email to : edwarda@salem.cc and let them know that we want Eric to stay! And that we value local conservative talk here in Sacramento. And then send this email to every conservative you know within the KTKZ listening area.
BTW. Be nice! Be polite! And let them know that we appreciate all that they have done for the conservative movement in Sacramento. We just want Eric to stay!

KTKZ is canceling the Eric Hogue Show- The Death of Conservative Talk in Sac?

First KFBK releases the ever controversial Mark Williams from his evening spot and replace him with milk toast liberal, Bruce Maiman.

Now KTKZ, the home of the Recall is replacing the guy who almost single handedly put them on the map, morning host Eric Hogue. WHAT THE HECK ARE THEY THINKING!!!!!!!!

Sacramento’s Salem Broadcasting is under new management. And it appears that they are operating under the belief that they can save money and increase the bottom line by eliminating all local talk and going all syndicated, all the time.

Maybe I’m mistaken, but wasn’t that KTKZ’s format before Eric got here? And weren’t their ratings in the toilet? What is it that makes these folks believe that eliminating one of Sacramento’s favorite local talk shows in favor of an already failed programming format is a good idea?

Well I, for one am not willing to let this go without a fight. And I am not alone. I have been in contacted by some soon to be former KTKZ advertisers and listeners who have asked me to urge everyone who cares to contact the management at Salem and let them know that we want Eric to stay.

So I’m asking…. No….. I’m pleading with you, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

Send an email to : edwarda@salem.cc and let them know that we want Eric to stay! And that we value local conservative talk here in Sacramento. And then send this email to every conservative you know within the KTKZ listening area.

We have until September 1st to make a difference. So let’s make it happen!

Craig DeLuz Applauded by Governor Schwarzenegger

That’s right!!!! CRAIG DELUZ, jr. was applauded by Governor Schwarzenegger and the First Lady Maria Shriver last week as he held up a photo honoring former President Ronald Regan, who was being inducted into the brand new California Hall of fame. THAT'S MY BOY!!!!!!

The caption from Yahoo News read as follows:

Calif., Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, left, and his wife, first lady Maria Shriver, applaud as Craig DeLuz, 11, displays a photograph of former President Ronald Reagan one of a dozen Californians to be inducted in the newly created California Hall Of Fame, in Sacramento, Calif., Monday, July 31, 2006. The hall of fame, to be opened this December, will be located in the California Museum of History, Women and the Arts and is intended to celebrate the achievements of Californians in the arts, education, business, labor science, sports, philanthropy and public service. (AP Photo/Rich Pedroncelli)

While I am truly proud of my boy, I do have to lodge one small compliant. How is it that my son, who isn’t even old enough to vote has met the Governor; and my brother, a life-long Democrat and liberal activist has not only met him, but works for him; but I, a longtime Republican activist and loyal Republican voter has not met him?

I guess life just isn’t fair…

Maybe my son can get me a hook up...
